Hotel Ladina is a family-run 3-star hotel slap in the centre of Campitello di Fassa, just 200 metres from the Col Rodella cable car. Run by the Riz family, it has the kind of easy, genuine warmth that keeps guests coming back, and a location that is hard to beat for skiing the Dolomites. The 34 rooms are done in a traditional Alpine style, many with balconies looking across to the Sassolungo group, and everything you need in the village — shops, restaurants, a supermarket, a cash machine — is within a few minutes' walk.
The food here punches well above the hotel's 3-star billing. Traditional Ladin and local dishes are prepared fresh each day, and the breakfast buffet is generous enough to fuel even the biggest day on the mountain. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available on request. Downstairs, the hotel's café bar is a relaxed spot for a coffee or an aperitif, looking straight out onto the village centre.
When the legs have had enough, the wellness centre does the job nicely. A Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi, infrared sauna and ice cave are all there to take the sting out of a long day on the slopes, with massage treatments available if you want to go the extra mile. From the Col Rodella cable car you can access the Col Rodella-Belvedere-Passo Pordoi ski area and join the famous Sellaronda circuit around the Sella massif, with the wider Dolomiti Superski network opening up endless options beyond that. Ski hire is available from the shop in the same building, and a bus stop 100 metres away connects you to lifts across the valley.
