The 4-star Hotel Dahu is one of those rare ski hotels where the location alone would be enough to sell it, but there is plenty more going on besides. Set directly on the slopes in Madonna di Campiglio with genuine ski-in/ski-out access, the Pradalago cable car is right outside the door, connecting you to the vast Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta ski area. The village centre is only a few minutes on foot, so après-ski options are never far away either.
Rooms are kitted out in warm alpine wood with a contemporary edge, and all come with balconies offering panoramic views of the Brenta Dolomites. There is a good spread of room types to choose from, ranging from standard doubles up to spacious suites with separate living areas, so it works well whether you are travelling as a couple or with the family. Sky TV, free Wi-Fi, safe and soundproofing come as standard throughout.
The restaurant is one of the standout features of the Hotel Dahu. Dinner is a proper affair, with a set menu of four to five courses built around authentic Trentino recipes. Themed evenings, including candlelit South Tyrolean dinners and live music nights, add a bit of occasion to the week. Breakfast is equally impressive, served in a panoramic dining room with freshly squeezed juices, fruit milkshakes and a generous sweet and savoury buffet. If you have ever spent a ski holiday eating mediocre hotel food, the Dahu is a welcome change of pace.
The brand-new wellness centre is the other big draw. There is a heated outdoor pool with mountain views that feels genuinely special on a cold evening, plus an indoor pool, Finnish and Mediterranean saunas, Turkish bath, hydromassage and tropical shower. An adults-only relaxation area and a menu of massages and treatments round things off nicely. The hotel also has a lounge, bar, children's playroom, ski storage and free parking on site. The staff consistently get top marks from guests for being friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful.
