Banff

*high altitude resort*

Banff is nestled in the midst of a national park and dwarfed by the picturesque Rockie Mountains. The locals are friendly, the scenery stunning and the wildlife up close and personal! Located high in the Rockies, you'll need to wrap up warm as this is one of the most snow sure destinations there is. Feeding the three resorts of Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Mount Norquay and offering a huge and varied skiing terrain, it rightly deserves it's status as one of the top ski destinations in the world.

The Snow

The skiing in Banff is some of the best and most varied in the world. Enthusiasts can choose from the steep and deep back bowls of Lake Louise, the 100% natural snow of Sunshine Village or try the aptly named Widowmaker double black on nearby Mount Norquay. All three ski areas are reached by ski bus in 45, 25 and 15 minutes respectively. While Lake Louise and Sunshine offer massive Terrain to suit all abilities, Norquay is ideal for those who like short challenging runs to get their kicks. It also offers night skiing and local snowboarding competitions throughout the season.

Après ski

The locals say Banff is a picturesque drinking town with a snowboarding problem! Banff offers a variety of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and wallets. Alternatively if you want to relax after a day on the hill, then take a trip up to the thermal hot springs at the top of town, or a relaxing walk down to Bow river falls. There is so much to do in Banff that the only problem you will have is deciding what to do first!
