Amid the Zugspitz area is Berwang which is 1,336m above sea level. The resort is sunny and has a beautiful countryside just a few kilometres behind the German / Austrian border. Even Germany's most famous Alpine peaks, the imposing Felskoloss the Zugspitze, are the mountain peaks just beyond Berwang. The altitude makes it idyllic, and the mountain village has a health resort.
