Ski Chalets France 2012
Directski.com join forces with Ski Beat
In September 2010, Directski.com was delighted to announce the acquisition of Ski Beat, the UK's
largest independent ski chalet operator. Ski Beat has been providing great value chalet holidays
for over 20 years in some of the top French ski resorts. This story will come as great news to the
regular Directski.com guests who've been asking us for more chalets for years. You asked, we
listened!
We're very excited to able to bring a growing portfolio of 50 luxury chalets to a wider market at
prices that will pleasantly surprise you. So, why not leave the cooking and cleaning to us, kick back
and enjoy a wonderful chalet holiday with log fires, great company, quality wine and sumptuous
food all cooked by your own chalet host. The majority of our chalets are located within 150 metres
of the slopes and many offer skiing right back to your door.
Why a Chalet Holiday?
The informalities and relaxation a chalet holiday can offer is becoming more and more sought after
in today's skier. Whether skiing with the kids, a couple or a group a chalet holiday is a great way
to meet other skiers, whilst being looked after by our specially selected chalet hosts.
Our chalets have comfortable lounge areas for you to relax after your days skiing, and you will have
the comforts of your own bedrooms, most of them offering en suite facilities. Don't forget your
slippers as outdoor shoes cannot be worn in our chalets.
Our Chalet Staff
Our Chalet hosts are selected for their out-going, friendly personalities, and of course their
ability to plan and cook delicious meals, to a consistently high standard. All our staff undergo
comprehensive training in resort at the start of the winter, so that they are fully prepared to care
for you and most have been with Ski Beat for years. As with most chalet holidays, your chalet
hosts will dine with you in the evenings. They are monitored on a regular basis to ensure that
they provide the level of satisfaction expected by our guests, and wherever possible exceed those
expectations. Our chalet hosts get a well-deserved day off each week. On the day off, breakfast is
on a self-service basis and we ask you to eat out for dinner, at your own expense. Your hosts will be
able to advise you about local restaurants.
Our Resort Managers are chosen for their helpful dispositions and undergo a long period of
training and receive continuous assessment. It is the Resort Managers job to meet all guests and to
attend to any requests and queries you may have. The resort managers are accessible each day and
take time to visit you during your stay. They are committed to ensuring our high levels of customer
satisfaction are maintained. They may well even dine with you one evening, please let the office
know before you travel if you wish this not to happen.
Our Nannies are employ qualified British nannies to run our crèche
and childcare services. All applicants for nanny jobs supply full
references, which are always followed up. Our nannies are dedicated
professionals who are there to ensure that your children have the best
possible care whilst having the most possible fun. Many children
don't want to leave at the end of the week and come away clutching
armfuls of artwork and telling daily stories! Specific details about the
childcare available in your chosen resort can be found on the Kids
tab on the individual chalet page of our website. You'll need to book
in advance by emailing sales@directski.com
Chalet Meals
Regardless of the chalet you choose for your holiday you will find that the standard of cuisine is
consistently high across all our resorts. For breakfast you can eat as much or as little as you like.
Choose from fruit juice, cereals, muesli, fresh French bread with butter and preserves, as well as
eggs, porridge or one of the hot options and of course tea or coffee. In our Select Service chalets,
croissants and pain au chocolat are also available. For afternoon tea, which is the most informal
meal of the day, help yourself to fresh bread, butter and jams, biscuits and home made cake or
scones, either eaten at the table or relaxing beside the fire. For Dinner, one of the highlights of the
day, using fresh seasonal produce, chalet hosts produce a home cooked 3-course evening meal.

If you have certain allergies to food please contact us in advance to your holiday by email:

In certain chalets we provide an upgraded cuisine - Select Service. You'll find details of the service
provided on the meals section of the specific chalets webpage. Select Service is limited to certain
chalets, which are run by more experienced cooks and chefs.
Wine
To complement your meal we serve free and unlimited good quality Red and White wines during
the course of dinner. After dinner fresh ground coffee or decaffeinated coffee as well as tea are
served in the lounge. In our Select Service chalets we have chosen four Appellation Contrôlée
wines to accompany your meal.
Children's Food
Unless you are booking a whole chalet, children aged 11 and under will be served High Tea at
6pm. Please send us an email giving an indication of what you might like them to eat. If you are
travelling with children over 11 years of age who require high tea please contact us by email
sales@directski.com. This service is provided at no extra cost and ensures that your child's normal
routine is not disturbed. Soft drinks or milk are served with the meal.
Christmas and New Year
An alpine chalet is a wonderful place to spend the festive season. We provide Christmas trees and
decorations. On the day itself, you can look forward to aperitifs, turkey with all the trimmings,
flaming Christmas pudding, mince pies, and of course Christmas crackers. For New Year most of
our resorts will have torch lit descents, fireworks and other celebrations. Alternatively, you could
just enjoy New Year's Eve dinner in your chalet with a glass or two of fizz.
