Ski Maps from OpenStreetMap
We want our maps to give you the best understanding of the layout of your chosen resort. Piste maps are nice, but it's hard for us to show your hotel on those. So we've introduced our new “Ski” layer to our map browser – simply click on the “Ski” button to see it. On the ski map you'll see the usual streets and hotels, but also the location of ski lifts, the pistes themselves (complete with colour-coding) and other useful stuff.
This map layer uses data from the OpenStreetMap project, which is an open data project aiming to be the Wikipedia of online maps. Through OpenStreetMap, any individual may make additions or corrections to the map. For this reason, you should be aware that the level of coverage can vary, and some resorts may not be fully mapped. Some roads, lifts or ski runs may be missing. That said, when coverage is good it's excellent, often including details of individual buildings or businesses.
We'd like to hear your feedback on the Ski Map, so please let us know what you think. Remember too that if your favourite resort isn't as well-mapped as you might like, you have the option to participate in the OpenStreetMap project and fill in some of the missing pieces.
